The Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission’s final regulations entitled “Implementation for a Renewable Energy Standard” (810-RICR-40-05-2), effective May 28, 2024 have been published. The regulations were filed with the RI Secretary of State’s office and can be accessed here. According to Section 2.8(I)(1) of the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission’s Regulation, Implementation of a Renewable Energy Standard 810-RICR-40-05-2, effective July 25th, 2007, the Commission is required to publish the Alternative Compliance Payment (ACP) rate by January 31st of each Compliance Year. The rate is determined according to Section 2.3(2) of the Regulations.
Other information on compliance with the RES including Alternative Compliance Payments may be found in Section 2.8 of the Rules.
The newly published ACP rate includes compliance year 2024.

According to Section 2.8(I)(1) of the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission’s Regulation
Implementation of a Renewable Energy Standard 810-RICR-40-05-2, effective July 25th, 2007,

The Rhode Island Renewable Energy Standards program is undergoing an application and compliance tracking technology upgrade to ease these processes for facilities and obligated entities. Already the facility application process can be completed on-line through a simple, guided process. Expect to see more process brought to the on-line environment in the coming months.
